Letrozole Information
For people who have hormone-positive breast cancer, tamoxifen has been the standard treatment recommendation. Recent studies have shown that receiving new kinds of anti-hormone medications (like letrozole) after receiving tamoxifen can be helpful. This information is applicable only to postmenopausal women who have had early stage, hormone receptor-positive breast cancer, and have completed (or are near completing) their prescribed 5 years of adjuvant tamoxifen therapy. Krista Rawson RN, NP has prepared an informative slide presentation to help you understand why people are talking about letrozole.
Cancer Care Ontario (the provincial body overseeing cancer care and treatment in Ontario) has developed helpful standards and treatment guidelines for many different kinds of cancers.
If you have questions after reading the information, please call your cancer center. The telephone numbers to the cancer centers are listed here on this link to the Cancerboard website.
